I have really tried not to post anything that may offend or gross anyone out in the past. You know what - I'm over that. This blog is supposed to be about our life and I should share even the disturbing moments. So, look away if you must.
Chris and I have been having the hardest time getting Logan to poop in the potty. He pees like a pro, but not so much the other. We have tried positive reinforcement, punishment, you name it - we have tried it. I told myself when we started potty training I would not put another diaper on him no matter how hard it gets, but the past few days I would be lying if I said it hadn't crossed my mind. I am sick to death of cleaning up poop!!
Even in this time of trials (I say 'trials' because I know this too shall pass - I just wish it would hurry up already!), Logan makes me laugh at the funny things he has to say about it. Last night I made him sit on the potty for 20 minutes after he had started to go in his big boy underwear. I tried to reason with him (yea right, he's 3?):
Me: Logan, try to listen to your body. If you feel poop coming out, your body is saying "Run to the potty Logan! You need to go poop."
Logan: **looking at me like I had LOST it - he raises his bum-bum off the potty and says:** Mom, listen, my hinny is not talkin', my body not talk!
What do you say to that exactly?? I couldn't help but laugh as Chris comes into the bathroom with a smearky grin.
I should credit my friend Sarah with the whole listen to your body talk. It seemed to work with her son, Luke. Oh well, not Logan.
