The Friday Five

1. Layne started her first day of MDO in a little "fight/argument" with another little girl.  Apparently Layne wanted this little girl's strawberries and was not happy when the teachers told her she couldn't have them.
2. Evan got new glasses this week.  He stepped on them Wednesday.  Thank goodness for Walmart's 1 yr warranty.  We're wearing it out!
3. Layne is scared to death of a train's choo-choo.
4. Titan roams freely in our neighborhood.  In fact, so freely, I have to go find him most days.  We need a fence.
5. Logan got his first recognition at school for the year this week!  He got caught being a good leader and following directions....proud momma!

First Day of 4K and 2K!

Both Evan and Layne woke up really excited about school today.  Evan's enthusiasm continued, Layne's did not. Evan walked WAY ahead of me down the hall to his class at one point saying "I got this mom, I know where the frog class is.  See ya after lunch."  To which I responded, "Momma's coming with you, whether you like it or not!"

Layne held her knees to her chin to keep me from putting her down.  One of her teachers took her from me, and I could still hear her screaming as I walked back down the hall.

 

I will eventually get pictures of them in their chairs at school, but the first few days are so hard on me.  I have to get out of their before everyone sees my ugly cry.  Miss my babies, and hate that they are getting so big.....but I know they are at the BEST school in Chelsea and are going to make lots of friends and learn lots of new things.

 

I can't wait to hear how wonderful their day was.

 

The Friday Five

1. Mine and Chris' 7 year anniversary is Sunday.  I know it's cliche, but it seems like yesterday.  Much anticipated date night tomorrow night.  I may be most excited about sleeping in Sunday.  Thanks for watching our kids Nana and Papa!!
2. When Titan is bad, Layne shakes her finger at him and says "Trouble!"
3. Logan survived his first week of 1st grade.  He loves it and is making new friends daily! 
4. Evan and Layne had a dental appointment this week with our new dentist.  She would not open her mouth for him.  He literally had to pry his hands in her mouth to check her bite.  She never cried, but was not at all cooperative....almost defiant.  Evan did great and got a Spiderman toothbrush kit (he wants to go back weekly!)
5. Evan and Layne start Mother's Day Out Tuesday....post to come on that!

Weight: 29 lbs, 8 oz.  (75%)



Layne's new sentences:

This is probably my favorite baby stage.  She is so alert, repeats EVERYTHING I say, and is starting to be so funny!  She even laughs at herself when she says something funny.  She is right behind her brothers' steps and misses nothing. 

She is sleeping great in her big girl bed now.  I lay her down, sing 2 songs, and leave the room.  She cries for about 2 minutes and will fall asleep on her own.

Layne wears 4T clothes and size 5 diapers.

Her favorite food is fruit and any sort of noodle.

 

She's the perfect caboose to our little family.

First Day of 1st Grade

Logan's first day of 1st grade went great!  He said he loved recess the best and lunch the least (because all you can do during lunch is eat, not play!).  He made new friends, and said 1st grade is going to be WAY better than kindergarten :)  I held myself together all day and stayed super busy.  Many days ahead of me missing this big boy....

Last Day of Summer Vacation

On the last day of summer vacation, the kids wanted to go to the zoo so they could feed a giraffe (on the bucket list).  We finished the day off with popsicles from Steel City Pops...YUM!

The Friday Five

1. Waiting on Logan's teacher card today.  We found out early this week that Evan is in the Frogs class and Layne is in the Tigers class at MDO.
2. Sara, Jay and Cooper gave Layne a baby doll for her birthday that had a pacifier attached to a string on the baby's clothes.  I check on the boys after I had laid Layne down for a nap (this is the DAY after receiving the gift).  Logan says "Look mom!  We cut the pacifier free from the baby.  It's easier for the pacifier to go in now."  Furious does not describe my emotion in that moment.  They had to give me their past allowance money to buy Layne a new doll.
3. Safety scissors are no longer out in our house for the boys to play with at any time.
4. Fall baseball registration is tomorrow!
5. Layne got her eyes checked this week to make sure she didn't need glasses like her brothers.  Doctor said her eyes seem perfect.  Good news!

Layne's 2nd Birthday!

Layne is really into anything Dora, Disney Princess, Minnie,  and Hello Kitty.  Her day was full of all these things!  Happy Birthday to my sweet princess!
