Farewell to the Circus

The last "greatest show on earth", might have been the best yet.
Thanks to Nana for documenting our experience!!

101st Day of First Grade

Layne had to do a project for the 101st day of FIRST grade.  The teacher didn't give strict instructions - just that whatever she brought had to have 101 things on it.
Pinterest saved the day!!
Layne glued 101 crayons on some foam board and I helped her melt them with a blow dryer, making this cool art piece.  She's sure to win Most Colorful Project!

January Happenings

This year has kicked into full swing for us already this year, we've been busy!

The boys have basketball or baseball practice most days, but last week Layne and I escaped for a few hours to go play at a nearby park she's been wanting to visit.

Logan has lost a total of 5 teeth this month!  He had 2 of them pulled last week and recovered like a champ!
In other news, the tooth fairy may need some part time employment.

Last week Evan had a severe stomach bug and missed most of the school week.  I took him to the ER Friday morning - they wanted to run some labs and check his appendix.  Everything was normal, and after a fluid bolus and some Zofran we were sent on our way.  His appetite perked back up Sunday and I'd say he's now back to his funny self.

Roller Skating

Logan was recently invited to a birthday party at the local skating rink.  He loved skating but said he needed more practice so I took all 3 kids on their last day of Christmas break.  I hadn't been skating in YEARS so I rented skates for myself also.
As soon as I saw that I was being used for a soft target/stopper/bumper for both Evan and Layne, my skates came off (nurses can't work with broken extremities).  Just like everything Evan does, when he fell it was BIG and OVER THE TOP - at times it looked as if he had 8 legs when falling.
All in all, everyone improved.  There were no broken bones, but lots of bruises (Layne has a HUGE one on her left elbow).
