Evan's 1st day of 3k!

When Evan woke up this morning he said "Mom, I've decided not to go to school today."
But he went anyway.

When I picked him up he said "Mom, I had way more fun at school then I do at home with you."
Yep.....he had a great 1st day. And my ego is recovering.

The Friday Five

1. Today is Chris and I 's 6th year anniversary! Woohoo! Best 6 years of my life!
2. Our little family has been under the weather all week! I have a cold I can't shake, even after 2 shots an 2 antibiotics. Layne's nose is like a running faucet.
3. Due to this cold, Chris and I are celebrating our anniversary next weekend :( Who wants to have date night, when you feel awful.
4. Last night our power went off at 3:30 AM and Evan woke up crying because he thought someone broke his fan.
5. We are ready for fall and football!!

The Friday Five

1. Fire Cat has become a picky eater. Apparently he/she only wants tuna.
2. Me: Evan, do you remember what the number of the day was on Sesame Street today? Evan: R Me: R is not a number. R is a letter. Evan: Oh. Then I guess I don't.
3. I am still adjusting to Logan being gone all day. I went and ate lunch with him Thursday and I cried all the way home :(
4. Layne has tooth #8 coming in!
5. Logan LOVES buying his lunch at school. I think he feels just so independent. His favorite part is paying for it.

The Friday Five

1. Logan's 1st day of kindergarten was great!  He had such a great time and agreed to go back today :)
2. Evan has been feeling a little blue with Logan at school all day.  I've been trying to keep him super busy.  This morning we went to the zoo.
3. Logan was exhausted when he got home yesterday!  
4. I think I asked him 50 questions within 5 seconds of him being in the car.  He said "Mom, you're asking me so many questions - it's making my forehead hurt!"
5. I am now not as opposed to homeschooling as I thought I was :)

Kindergarten here HE comes!!

I have dreaded this day all year! My sweet baby going to kindergarten ALL day. He is so excited about his first day and ready to meet some friends. Me - I have been crying all morning...in the car, at Burger King, on the couch.

He is having a blast!!
And tomorrow will be better!!

(that's what I'm telling myself)

He even looks like a kindergartner this morning, so big and handsome. He's ready for this.

2:50 cannot come soon enough!

Layne's 1 yr checkup

I took Layne for her 1 yr checkup Thursday. She is quickly gaining the weight back that she lost last week during her illness.

Weight: 23 lbs 8 oz (90%)

Height: 29 3/4 in (75%)

She was super squirmy while measuring her height and Dr. McCain said she is certain that Layne is taller than what they measured.

These days Layne is:

wearing size 4 diapers

wearing size 2T clothes, 3T pjs

saying Dada, Mama, Nana, bye-bye, and night-night

eating almost everything we do....her favorites are raisins, any kind of bread, cheerios, cookies, lima beans, and macaroni n cheese

was drinking 2% milk, but now we are back to sensitive formula for a few weeks to let her tummy get back to normal after being sick

NOT having anything to do with a sippy cup

We are going to work on those last 2 points in the upcoming weeks :)

The Friday Five

1. Layne got tooth #7 this week!
2. The boys had dentist appointments this week. They were such big boys - even went in the back for their checkups by themselves, while I stayed in the lobby. This momma was shocked :) and so proud!
3. The tooth fairy came Friday night. Logan left her a note asking for a superhero toy rather than money. He woke up to a Captain America shield and mask! He was so excited. Evan said "When I loose my tooth, I'm going to ask for a swing set!" Whoa.
4. Logan found out his Kindergarten teacher this week. He will be in Mrs. Shoemaker's class this year and 2 friends from MDO are in there also. I'm so glad he will know some friends that first day.
5. I am headed to Las Vegas Sunday for a dance convention. I'm excited about the opportunity but I come back just in time to take Logan to Kindergarten :(

Layne's Birthday

Today, my baby turned one.  I can't even believe it.  The boys have been telling me all day "Mom, this means Layne is a big girl now!"  And it just silently breaks my heart.  Maybe because she's my last.  Maybe because now I know how fast they really do grow up.

We had an extra special day of fun activities.  The boys got to pick what they thought Layne would like to do on her birthday.....so of course our day consisted of Krispy Kreme, Toys R Us, and TreeTop.  You know, the good stuff in life.
