Trick or Treat 2010

To celebrate Halloween, we went to Liberty Baptist's Fall Festival (this is where the boys go to school) and then we went trick or treating in a couple of neighborhoods. Our candy supply is now stocked back up for the year.

Hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween!

The Friday Five

  1. I call 5 PM-8 PM Layne's 'witching hour' because she fusses for no reason other than to fuss. Maybe it's because she's female, that's what Chris would say.
  2. At one point this week (like this morning), I had 6 loads of clean laundry to fold in the floor. Housework never seems to get done.
  3. The boys get their flu shots mist next week.
  4. Still deciding where to have Evan's 3rd birthday party.
  5. Next week is Farmer week at school, pictures to come.

Dress Up

Kelley, the owner of the dance studio where I teach dance, got Layne this sassy little outfit from Whoopsie Daisy in Trussville. If you have a little girl, you can get in big trouble in this store. They have everything trendy and frilly.
The problem is this outfit is size 0-6 months. I couldn't even button the back during my little photo shoot. I wanted to get some pictures in it because the store doesn't have this in a bigger size. I'll have to exchange it for something else, so I'll post pictures of the new outfit when I get it.

Afternoon at Old Baker Farm

**Alternately titled: There is not one picture of Layne or Nana in this post because I didn't know it was going to be 90 degrees outside and had no sun screen for my 2 month old - so Nana and Layne spent most of their time in the car which was air conditioned. Ahem.**

We went to the farm today but had a picnic and some playground time first...

Then we caged our wild boys.

Just kidding. Apparently jumping in a trailer full of cotton is an acceptable past time at a farm.
And let me tell ya, my boys want one of these in our backyard.

We rode on a hayride to a big pumpkin garden...
and we pulled...
and we tugged...
and found the biggest...
most perfect pumpkins our little bodies could carry.

We even found a pumpkin in our favorite color.
Then, since Papa is so strong...

we let him carry them all back to the tractor. We're nice like that.

Just kidding again. We had a field full of little hands to help.

But no one, absolutely no one, can touch Logan's green pumpkin. You've been warned. He's guarding it with his life.

Except when he has to put it down to climb a big hay fort...
or drive a toy tractor. The kid has priorities.

And Evan looks like he was born to bring home the crop.

Thanks to daddy for carving us some scary pumpkins!!
We had a GREAT day!

The Friday Five

  1. I got a part time job at Janie and Jack. It's a children's clothing boutique owned by Gymboree at the Summit. I start next week and am very excited about it.
  2. I love toddler talk and misunderstood phrases like...."Bo Little Peep" and "Captain and the Hook".
  3. Evan will not use the potty at school. He will hold it until he gets home.
  4. We're headed to the pumpkin patch down the road to pick some pumpkins for our front porch this weekend. Maybe we'll make an art project out them too.
  5. For Halloween, Logan is going to be Mario, Evan is going to be Luigi, and Layne is going to be a strawberry.

Montgomery Zoo

We are still absolutely loving our zoo pass! We headed to the Montgomery Zoo (Evan calls it the Gummy Zoo) Sunday afternoon. Nana and Papa made the trip with us.
These cute little monkeys loved all the attention they were getting from us so much, we thought they were going to climb out from the top of their cage!

Cute baby elephant...
Logan and Evan got to feed the giraffes!!

You can see Layne's birthmarks in this picture...pretty much identical to the ones Logan had.
Nana and Papa hung out with Layne while we went on a train ride.

Look at all those rolls :)
