Layne's 1st Tooth Fairy Visit

Layne has had what looks like an ulcer on her front gum all weekend.  Well it hit me this morning that it was directly above her discolored tooth that was traumatized about a year and a half ago....it had to be abscessed.
I text Todd (our dentist who is also our close friend) at 6 AM this morning and asked him if I was correct.  He felt sure I was and recommended a pediatric dentist in town to go to.  Layne LOVES Todd when he is just Preslee's daddy, but when he has on his dentist jacket, not so much.  In the nicest way possible, Todd said restraints would be needed.
I took her to Dr. Baker Chambliss and sure enough the roots were really infected and causing the abscess and even a little bruising on the tip of her nose.  He said it needed to be pulled.
Layne was so brave.  They even asked me to sit out in the waiting room so I wouldn't be upset by the procedure and she was so "happy" on gas and watching Dora on the overhead TV, she didn't even notice I was gone.
And the best part......the tooth fairy comes tonight!  But Layne has some high standards on tooth fairy gifts, so I hope the little fairy can pull out a win.

Now she looks 7.
What a morning!!
Check out the coolest tooth I have ever seen:

Logan's Tannehill Field Trip

Paige (Brooke's mom) graciously kept Layne today while I went on Logan's field trip to Tannehill.  It was so much more fun than I expected......we may even go back and rent a cabin for the weekend.  I love one on one time with my oldest baby!

The Friday Five

  1. Me: "What did you learn at school today?"  Evan: "You know that girl that is blind in her ear?"  Evan learned about Helen Keller this week :)
  2. Layne follows most sentences with "Right, momma?"
  3. Logan scored his first touchdown in Sunday's flag football game.
  4. Logan is getting presented a new Bible at church Sunday.  It's the 3rd Grade Bible presentation.
  5. This was my 2nd week shadowing Sue (my aunt that is a nurse practitioner).  I'm having a blast, wish I could do it everyday.

Logan's Fairytale Reading - 3rd Grade

Logan's class invited the parents to a brunch this morning so each student could read their own fairytale story to an audience.  Logan was the 2nd volunteer, and was so confident while reading his story.  It included a witch named Layne and a valley named Evan......and of course the prince was Logan!
